Nasya
Nasya is an exceptional Ayurvedic practice to lubricate the nasal passages, relieve congestion and support concentration and mental function.
In Ayurveda the nose is considered the gateway to the brain and to consciousness (prana, the vital force, enters through it); by keeping it clean, our awareness becomes clearer and expands. This practice is helpful for anyone with respiratory complaints (sinusitis in particular) and for conditions of the head in general, from chronic migraines to insomnia or poor memory. It improves the voice and expands the senses, acting on taste and sight in particular. It is essential for anyone who practises breathing exercises and meditation, as it opens the channels of prana.
Made with the Moon in Gemini. 10 mL glass bottle.
- Oil macerate of rosemary.
- Essential oils of mint, ravintsara, eucalyptus, niaouli, lemon, pine, cinnamon and black pepper.
*from certified organic farming and from plants gathered in the Liébana Valley.
- Shake the bottle and place four drops of Nasya in the palm of your left hand (two per nostril); with the little finger of your right hand take half of it and place it inside one nostril, massaging the nasal walls and reaching as deep as possible while breathing in slowly.
- Then move on to the second nostril. Next, do alternate-nostril breathing exercises: close the right nostril and breathe in through the left for a count of six, then breathe out through the right for a count of twelve. Repeat, closing the left nostril and breathing in through the right. Repeat several times.
