Face Cream for Sensitive Skin

The skin is an especially “emotional” organ. Emotions, so hard to tame, affect every cell in our body and become visible through our skin. As if everything visible were only the expression of the invisible. For those moments when the skin is temporarily unprotected and far more prone to allergies, bacteria, redness and inflammation, more vulnerable and reactive than usual, I have made this cream to care for sensitive, reactive skin.

Helichrysum stimulates the internal secretion of hydrocortisone. It is anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic. It protects the dermis, helps healing and is bacteriostatic.

Lemon verbena hydrolat, which I obtain myself by steam distillation using sea water, soothes skin that is irritated and affected by stress, which shows up as facial muscle tension or dermatitis.

Magnesium “oil”, harvested in the salt flats of the Mediterranean, cleanses the pores and prevents acne spots and skin allergies.

Meadowsweet tincture: thanks to its mucilage, salicylates and vitamin C, Filipendula ulmaria softens the tissues, soothes pain and helps wounds to heal. Its flavonoids also have properties that help treat psoriasis.

I have added frankincense essential oil mainly for its energetic properties, since it dispels patterns of mental rigidity, obsessions, tension and nervous fatigue. It releases tension, calms and revitalises. It helps to change the way we see things and to build a bond with the higher self.

This cream penetrates the skin and immediately soothes and cools itching and redness, activating circulation and leaving the skin deeply moisturised and protected. Suitable for skin with imperfections, whether acne, shaving irritation, dermatitis, couperose, rosacea or atopic skin.

NOTE: this cream is made under the forces of Mercury and the Moon, the forces that govern the nervous system and our capacity for protection. The higher magistery of lavender, prepared according to alchemical principles, acts on deep energetic levels, balancing these forces which, in my view, produce imbalances in the skin.
